Scenes From The Suburbs
Here's something that fans have been waiting patiently for - Director Spike Jonze (Adaptation, Being John Malkovich) and Arcade Fire's Will and Win Butler have collaborated on a 28 minute film.
More than just a rock video, it's been inspired by the band's 2010 album titled "The Suburbs", which follows themes of war and coming of age in Suburbia.
Filmed as a flashback, we follow one boy's patchwork memories of growing up, watching as he grows apart from his friends. But this isn't your normal "Leave It To Beaver" neighbourhood.
Now the best part is that MUBI wil be streaming the film for free within a 48 hour window, beginning June 27 here on it's page. Not sure if you have to sign up as a member. I don't think so, but if you do, they don't ask for anything too personal.
To give you an idea as to the content of the film, check out the trailer. I don't remember Ward coming home in battle fatigues.
